BIOGRAPHYBrandi was born in San Antonio and has lived there, in Austin, and in Santo Domingo, Dominican Repulic. She studied Biology and Studio Art at the University of Texas at Austin and earned her BA in Art in 1999. During college she played in bands such as Woozyhelmet and Speed Queens, painted, started learning to tattoo, shot video of dozens of bands, and published a fun little zine called 86 Pounds of Punk.She left Austin and began tattooing at Dandyland Tattoos in San Antonio, Texas in the summer of 1999. The world didn't blow up on New Year's 2000, so there she stayed until the spring of 2004. In March of that year she decided to stir things up a bit so she left Dandyland, blew a kiss to SA, and hopped a plane to Europe where she backpacked in Italy for a month. It was pretty awesome. She got a job at Atomic Tattoos (5533 Burnet RD) in July of 2004 and can still be found there tattooing and drinking alot of Dr Pepper. Brandi still plays in Woozyhelmet, has a newer band called The Sour Notes, and should really spend more time painting and silkscreening and less time staring at the stupid internet. |
